Chapter 1.5: Wedding Crash

We woke up and I remembered that our wedding was today. I quickly got up leaving Jory to sleep. I grabbed my dress and put it on, "Jory, wake up. Its our wedding today." I gently touched his shoulder, "You should take a shower and get ready for today." He mumbled something and I went to the kitchen. Grandpa was the first to come.
"Hey grandpa! Nice look you got there." I couldn't help but wonder if he was more famous then me, "Where's grandma? Is she okay?"
"Thanks, you look so beautiful in that dress. Blaire is still walking up the walkway. She is getting really old you know." He stopped and opened the door. In came Grandma.
"Nice to see you again Sadie." She coughed and bent over to catch her breath, "Lots of people arrived." Grandma doubled over then she clutched her stomach, "I think its my time to go." She stood up and looked me in the eye, smiled then turned to Grandpa.
We all watch as grandma slowly lifts off the ground horrified. My guests all turned there eyes on the death that was happening. She raised higher and higher, struggling to fight onto life.
She flopped back down to the floor and looked into grandpa's eyes. We all heard a sorrow filled wail as grandma realized she lost the fight with death. The stood there looking at each other.
Grandpa burst into tears, "I-I-I will b-b-be up there with y-y-you soon." He reached out to touch her hand but his hand went through her's.
Grandma looked confused and I couldn't blame her. She looked around at all of us and saw that we were all staring. Her gaze rested on mine. I tried to keep myself together but I couldn't manage it.
I gasped and clutched my hands together. Hoping I was having one of my dreams. Her gaze was empty and she looked back at the floor.
I lost it. I couldn't stop thinking about how I could have spent more time with her, with them. I felt like it was my fault. I wanted to hide from the crowd.
My hands fluttered to my face and I sobbed into them. The sound of people sniffling was stopped and the room went cold. I wanted to know what was happening but I wasn't done crying. My eyes felt like they where being lifted to were grandma was.
I glanced up and I started to shake. Grim was here and there was nothing that would stop him for coming to get my grandma. I felt like my insides where melting and I tried to pull my eyes away. I couldn't, so I watched in horror what happened.
Grandpa looked at grim then started to cry, "Grim! Please let her live to see-" He was cut short as Grim glared at him. I was terrified and I found my hands fluttering by my face.
"Let him talk Grim." My voice came out strong and powerful. Grim looked at me and I felt a weight trying to keep my mouth shut. I pushed back, not wanting him to win my grandma.
"Look-" I pushed through with all my might, "There's no-" I gasped for breath. I shook my head and fought with all my might, "There's no harm in letting people talk. None at all." I motioned to my grandpa, "Let him talk." My lips quivered and I waited for Grim to respond.
"The woman can talk for herself, mortal." He glared at me and I nodded.
Grandma got down on her knee's and started to beg, "If you would just let me live to see her wedding, I would be more then grateful."
Grim spoke with a bone chilling force, "That's not how it works. Now hurry up and come to the other side peacefully."
I willed Grim to let her stay, but nothing could stop Grim.
"Please, just one second?" grandma was barley audible. I wiped my tears away and looked away.
Grandma's face twisted up and she let out a loud, sorrow filled wail. Her face looked like she was crying and I wanted to go over there and make her happy. Grims booming voice made her stop. He talked in an ancient tongue while swooping his scythe around. He finished and swung the scythe through grandma.
I cried and shook, watching my grandmother being shoved into something she didn't want. I pulled away and closed my eyes. She's gone. Nothing you can do now. I opened my eyes and went over to grandpa, hoping that maybe I could cheer him up.
He hugged me, "You should have your wedding sweet-heart." I pulled away and nodded. I motioned Jory to come over to where I stood.
"Let's get married, have a wonderful life." a tear went down my face.
"You sure?" Jory's hand touched mine.
"I'm sure."
We said our vows and exchanged our rings. Grandpa cheered us on and our guests shouted and made a ruckus.
We finally kissed. Our lives where finally entwined with each others. We said bye to our guests and started to clean the house.
